The Benefits 0f Being a Brown!

As an Organization, the Board and Coaches make every effort possible to ensure that each year is a success for our players and cheerleaders.

The main focus each year is to make sure each player and cheerleader learns the value of sportsmanship and teamwork.  It is the goal of the organization to make sure each participant learns the valuable basic skills of the sport in order to make it to the next level and beyond.  Ultimately, the Browns strive to make sure each player and cheerleader ends each season as a better player/cheerleader than when they started.

In addition, there are other benefits that come with participating each year to make sure each child will look back on their experience with fond memories and keepsakes that will last a lifetime.

Each year, every player and cheerleader that meets their goal for our annual Ad Program Fundraiser will receive either their away jersey with their name on it for the football players or a hooded sweatshirt for the cheerleaders to keep.

Historically, after the season, the 6th grade football players have been taken on a daytrip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, a professional football game, or the Ohio High School Football Championships. In 2012, the team was afforded a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Cleveland to play an 8-minute scrimmage against the Shawnee Seminoles during half time of the Cleveland Browns vs Chicago Bears pre-season game. Every player was able to make the trip.

As for the Cheerleaders, typically there is an end of season party that all of the cheerleaders are invited to attend. Due to normally having a small amount of leaving 12-year Olds/6th grader cheerleaders, the leaving cheerleaders choose from a few options on what to do for their daytrip. In 2021, the cheerleaders chose to go to Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park.

At the end of season banquet, each player and cheerleader will receive a trophy for their participation. There are also awards given out to individual players and cheerleaders who show certain definable qualities throughout the season.  Some of these awards include most improved, best offensive player, best defensive player, MVP, MVC, most spirited, etc.

In February of 2015, the Board approved a motion to start working on details to develop a Scholarship fund. It was determined that The Uniopolis Browns Youth Football Organization will award one (1) scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to a previous Uniopolis Browns football player or cheerleader each year. To qualify candidates for this Scholarship must be a graduating senior in high school, and a former Uniopolis Browns player or cheerleader that played/cheered for a minimum of four (4) consecutive seasons with the 6th grade or 12 years of age season being the last. The Scholarship must be used toward post-secondary studies. High School Seniors graduating in 2022 and beyond are eligible to apply!!!!
